Investment Research Disclosures
This notice applies to the RefNode Investment Research workspace and introduction. It supplements the RefNode AI Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and general Legal Notice.
1. Current product status
RefNode Investment Research is a research preview for signed-in users using their own OpenRouter key. The question-and-answer experience uses automatic web search. The optional deeper council review examines retrieved excerpts from discovered or user-provided public sources. A standard answer has not undergone the separate six-analyst audit. It has no live market-data feed, portfolio execution, or paper-trading controls. Incomplete or blocked research is labeled as such. Preview availability is not a guarantee of analytical accuracy or production reliability.
RefNode charges $0 for access to Investment Research. AI and search usage is billed directly to your OpenRouter account using your API key. Access requires a free RefNode account and remains available if you subscribe to another RefNode plan. Paid subscriptions do not unlock additional investment questions, deeper securities analysis, or enhanced Investment Research features.
2. AI-assisted research, not personalized advice
RefNode provides AI-assisted investment research and analysis. Outputs are informational and educational and are not personalized investment, financial, legal, or tax advice.
RefNode analyzes securities and investment questions but is not designed to provide recommendations tailored to your financial circumstances, investment objectives, portfolio, risk tolerance, tax situation, or time horizon. Do not submit this information for the purpose of obtaining a personalized investment recommendation.
RefNode is not acting as your broker-dealer, investment adviser, fiduciary, financial planner, or portfolio manager. Use of the research does not create an investment advisory or fiduciary relationship. The AI role displayed as Investment Synthesis performs research synthesis only; it does not manage your portfolio.
3. No trading, custody, or asset management
RefNode does not execute trades, hold or custody assets, manage user portfolios, or make investment decisions on your behalf. The workspace does not connect to brokerage accounts or request a personal financial profile.
Do not enter brokerage passwords, account credentials, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or other sensitive financial information.
4. AI and evidence limitations
AI-generated research may be inaccurate, incomplete, internally inconsistent, or outdated. Agreement among multiple AI models does not establish that a conclusion is correct. Model confidence, rankings, scores, or consensus should not be interpreted as a probability of investment success.
Market prices, company information, filings, news, third-party information, and other evidence may be delayed, incomplete, or erroneous. Independently verify material information before making an investment decision, including sources, timestamps, calculations, and assumptions.
5. Investment and hypothetical-performance risks
Investing can result in loss, including loss of principal. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Backtests, simulations, hypothetical results, model evaluations, and paper-trading results do not represent actual future performance and should not be interpreted as guarantees or predictions of returns. They may omit fees, taxes, slippage, financing costs, liquidity constraints, and the difficulty of acting during changing markets. Development tests and model-agreement measures are not investment performance records.
6. Your decisions
You remain solely responsible for evaluating the research, independently verifying information you consider material, determining whether any investment or strategy is appropriate for you, and deciding whether and how to act. When needed, consult a qualified investment, financial, legal, or tax professional familiar with your circumstances.
7. Privacy and third-party material
Our Privacy Policy describes handling of information on the RefNode site.
RefNode does not maintain a server-side archive of your Investment Research conversations. Research questions, responses, and research records are stored locally in your browser on the current device, where you can delete or download them. They are not cloud-synchronized, including for RefNode Max subscribers.
RefNode may retain limited account, disclosure-acceptance, security, abuse-prevention, and operational records necessary to operate and protect the service. These records do not include an Investment Research conversation archive. The current research service stores your acknowledgment and a daily source-preparation counter separately from conversation content.
Research questions and source text are sent to AI providers through OpenRouter using your key. Automatic searches send the question to the search service through OpenRouter. Optional deeper-review preparation sends your question and public source links to RefNode for transient processing and source retrieval; the resulting preparation is returned to your browser without creating a server-side conversation archive. Your key is not included in research records. OpenRouter and other model, search, and infrastructure providers process requests under their own logging, retention, and privacy practices. Local storage does not mean that no third-party records exist.
Model and search charges apply to your key. Closing the page interrupts a running study; it does not reverse charges already incurred. No portfolio uploads or brokerage connections are requested. External sources have their own terms and privacy practices. References to AI providers, market-data sources, or regulators do not imply endorsement or a commercial relationship.
Before first use, you must acknowledge these disclosures. RefNode records your account identifier, disclosure version, acceptance, and timestamp; this record does not contain your financial profile. A topic check uses your OpenRouter key before research. Unrelated-question counts are stored for your account in this browser; after five unrelated questions, further off-topic requests are directed to CLAVE. Investment-related research remains available.

9. Important regulatory and product boundaries
No individualized recommendations or suitability determinations. RefNode does not determine whether any security, transaction, investment strategy, asset allocation, or course of action is suitable or appropriate for you. Do not supply income, net worth, liquidity needs, or other personal financial details to obtain an individualized recommendation. References to potential investments, strategies, risks, opportunities, or possible actions are research outputs, not suitability determinations or personalized recommendations.
No offer or solicitation. Nothing presented through Investment Research constitutes an offer to sell, a solicitation of an offer to buy, or an endorsement of any security, issuer, investment product, transaction, or investment strategy. The service is not designed to issue personalized recommendations.
No real-time representation. RefNode should not be used for time-sensitive trading decisions. Prices, quotations, market conditions, filings, and news may have changed after retrieval. Information displayed should not be treated as a real-time quotation or authoritative market record.
Independent due diligence remains necessary. Research is not a substitute for independent due diligence. The absence of a risk, fact, filing, event, conflict, or contrary argument from an output does not mean that it does not exist or is immaterial.
Retrieval is not verification. A citation means a source was identified or retrieved for research. It does not mean RefNode independently authenticated that source, verified every statement, or determined it to be complete or authoritative.
Model agreement and disagreement. Disagreement among models does not necessarily indicate uncertainty in the underlying facts. Agreement does not establish reliability. Multiple models may rely on the same incorrect, incomplete, stale, or derivative information.
Availability and jurisdiction. Investment Research is offered as a research preview. Availability does not represent that RefNode has determined the service is lawful or appropriate in every jurisdiction. Users are responsible for complying with applicable laws. RefNode may restrict or discontinue availability where necessary.
Acknowledgment. Before using Investment Research, you acknowledge that it provides AI-assisted research rather than personalized investment advice; does not determine suitability, manage assets, or execute transactions; may produce inaccurate or incomplete information; and leaves investment decisions to you.
